Nominations for the 12th annual ASTRA Awards are now closed.
“It has been an incredibly productive year for the subscription television industry, with $700 million invested in local production to generate around 65,000 hours of first-run Australian content,” ASTRA CEO Andrew Maiden said.
This year nominations were open for brand new categories including the industry-voted most outstanding sports entertainment program award and a channel achievement award. The total number of awards stands at 23, including five subscriber voted awards.
To simplify the process for entrants, nomination forms were streamlined and paperwork cut. Nominations were open for a calendar month, in line with previous years.
In 2014 the ASTRA Awards will shift from July to March, bringing it into line with other major entertainment and media industry events.
The 12th ASTRA Awards will take place at Carriageworks in Redfern on Thursday March 20.
Entries in the 12th ASTRA Awards closed at 4pm on Friday November 29, 2013. Finalists will be announced in mid-December.
