eckfactor was thrilled to manage PR for this year’s DUETS Gala Concert for the Australian Children’s Music Foundation at the Capitol Theatre on October 14.
More than 30 artists performed to a capacity crowd in surprising and delightful duets from pop and theatre to rock and opera. Danielle Spencer looked stunning, fit and tanned on the red carpet, arm in arm with her favourite man: her dad Don, founder of the ACMF. She sang her duet with Damien Leith. Timomatic sang with Emma Birdsall and Tim Freedman brought the house down with Rachael Beck singing alongside. Dicko and Rob Mills emceed and the irrepressible Leo Sayer got 2,000 people up on their feet for a spectacular finale.
VIP red carpet guests included the top brass of Australian’s musical talent, all lending their support for a fantastic cause: Danielle Spencer, Don Spencer, Timomatic, Rachael Beck, Dicko, Rob Mills, Lucy Durack, Tim Freedman, Mirusia, Damien Leith, Peter Northcote, Leo Sayer, Tex Perkins, Gretel Scarlett, John Waters, Richard Tognetti and Peter Garrett. Also joining them were celebrities such as comedian Mikey Robins and actor George Houvardas plus dignitaries including the Governor of NSW, Marie Bashir.
The ACMF provides programs and initiatives for disadvantaged and indiginous children across Australia. Whether it’s putting an instrument into the hands of a child to experience first hand or providing an opportunity to be part of a musical group, the foundation makes a real difference by changing young lives through music.
