Garmin, the global leader in satellite navigation, today announced their partnership with Special Olympics Victoria for the Garmin Charity Golf Day on Monday 2nd December 2013 at Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

Garmin Charity Golf Day supporting Special Olympics Victoria will assist in providing vital grass roots sports training for 1,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities in 13 local clubs across Victoria.
It is anticipated that more than 100 golf enthusiasts will attend, including professional golfers, disabled golf athletes and community leaders as well as celebrity players.
“We are incredibly grateful to have Garmin on board, supporting our cause,” said Shelley Calopa, State Fundraising Manager for Victoria, Special Olympics Australia. “Intellectual disability affects three percent of Australia’s population and with Garmin’s assistance, we are able to continue this vital work and aid people with an intellectual disability in reaching their full potential.”
Garmin Charity Golf Day supporting Special Olympics Victoria will be held at the prestigious Royal Melbourne Golf Club, rated number one in Australia and among the top 10 courses in the world, with the course hosting The Australian Masters and The World Cup just one week prior.
