The much-loved Looney Tunes character Bugs Bunny returns in a new series Wabbit – A Looney Tunes Production exclusive to Boomerang (Foxtel channel 713) on Monday 2 November at 5pm.
Wabbit is the first original series for the Turner Broadcasting kids’ channel since partnering with Warner Bros. in a new global venture announced in June.
The animation features the hilarious, heroic and mischievous Bugs Bunny that focuses on the classic personality and charisma of Bugs and sets him loose in today’s modern society.
The iconic carrot-loving rabbit with the famous catch phrase “Uh…what’s up doc?” matches wits against classic characters like Yosemite Sam and Wile E. Coyote. However, the show pits Bugs against new adversaries such as Winter Stag, The Grim Rabbit, and Dr. Clovenhoof. The rascally rabbit also has support from some new friends like Bigfoot and Squeaks the Squirrel, while others also return.
Each episode is comprised of four stand-alone, five-and-a-half-minute shorts, giving Wabbit the unexpected, wacky feel of the original shorts. Whether he is taking on today’s modern inconveniences or coming to the rescue of a Bigfoot in distress, Bugs is once again front and centre, and up to his old shenanigans with his usual wit, charm, and hilarity.
Wabbit features the voices of Jeff Bergman as Bugs Bunny, Dee Bradley Baker as Squeaks the Squirrel, and Maurice LaMarche as Yosemite Sam.
The series will join Boomerang’s existing portfolio of funny, multi-generational shows, which includes The Tom and Jerry Show, Scooby-Doo and Mr. Bean: The Animated Series. In addition to this line-up, Boomerang recently announced a new animated series Grizzy and the Lemmings, launching worldwide in spring 2016 and the series Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, based on the blockbuster film franchise.
Wabbit will premiere exclusively on Boomerang (Foxtel channel 713) on Monday November 2 at 5pm and continues weekdays at 5pm throughout November.
