ELIJAH WOOD, CHRISTOPHER LLOYD, JOHN CLEESE AND MELANIE LYNSKEY HEADLINE BRAND NEW ORIGINAL MINISERIES
Cartoon Network’s first original miniseries featuring a star-studded Hollywood lineup and inventive two-dimensional animation style, Over the Garden Wall, will premiere on Monday 15 December at 6pm.
Headlined by an all-star cast, this modern fairytale features the voices of Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), Collin Dean (Hotel Transylvania), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), John Cleese (Fawlty Towers), Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men), Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and Shirley Jones (The Partridge Family) as well as musician Chris Isaak.
Created by Adventure Time storyboard artist, writer and creative director Patrick McHale, Over the Garden Wall is an animated comedy/fantasy story that follows two brothers Wirt (Elijah Wood) and Greg (Collin Dean), who get lost in a mysterious world and must travel across a strange land to find their way home.
“I love working on a series that is fun to make as well as watch and I’m excited to share these genuinely interesting relationships with audiences all over the world. The characters fall into these different pockets of stories throughout their journey so always look forward to something completely unexpected,” said Patrick McHale.
The sensibilities of the miniseries are rooted in American folk tales, ghost stories, superstitions, Victorian postcards and anything else lying around the attic, as well as classics Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz.
Music plays an important role in Over The Garden Wall, with its soundtrack made up of original songs. The series is produced by Cartoon Network Studios with Nick Cross serving as Art Director.
Over the Garden Wall will premiere Monday 15 December at 6pm on Cartoon Network, continuing daily until Friday 19 December.
