Channing Tatum to receive “MTV Trailblazer” award presented by megastar Mila Kunis
Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Dave Franco, Seth MacFarlane, Amanda Seyfried, and Nicki Minaj also confirmed to present
MTV announced that the “2014 MTV Movie Awards” will feature an exclusive, never-before-seen electrifying scene from the highly anticipated film The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ™, which swings into theatres on April 17. The sneak peek will be introduced by the film’s returning stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone who will be joined by new villain Jamie Foxx, when broadcast LIVE on Monday, April 14 at 10:30AM AEST on MTV from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Additionally, MTV confirmed that Hollywood A-listers Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Dave Franco from the upcoming film Neighbors, Seth Macfarlane and Amanda Seyfried from A Million Ways to Die in the West, and Nicki Minaj from The Other Woman are set to hand out the Golden Popcorn. Minaj will present alongside her previously announced co-stars Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton.
MTV also confirmed that actor and producer Channing Tatum will be the first male ever to receive the third annual “MTV Trailblazer Award” – to be presented by Mila Kunis – for boldly paving the way with his unique and diverse path in the film industry.
Later this year, Tatum will reprise his role as Jenko in 22 Jump Street and share the screen with Mila Kunis in the upcoming Sci-Fi thriller Jupiter Ascending. He will also star in Foxcatcher with Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo, the animated film The Book of Life and will soon begin production on the sequel to Magic Mike.
The “2014 MTV Movie Awards” will once again officially kick-off the blockbuster season, promising to deliver yet another epically funny, explosive and over-the-top show that features fan favourite films and actors. Academy Award® nominated actor and producer Mark Wahlberg will be honoured with the “MTV Generation Award” and fittingly be presented the award by Entourage cast members Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara and Kevin Dillon.
The telecast will also serve as a nod to great music, featuring global superstars Ellie Goulding and Zedd performing selections from the Divergent soundtrack. Ellie Goulding will perform “Beating Heart” live for the first time, while Zedd will perform “Find You” with Miriam Bryant and Matthew Koma. In addition, MTV is adding a music discovery slot into “MTV Movie Awards” that will feature Twenty One Pilots performing their current single “Car Radio.” Additional performers will be announced at a later date.
