Ongoing Coverage of Breaking and Severe Weather Conditions
BACKGROUND:
The Weather Channel – which provides expert commentary during severe weather situations around Australia – wanted to increase its media coverage beyond subscription television during these events. eckfactor was asked to increase the number of regular crosses and media interviews done by its senior meteorologist and other experts.
ECKFACTOR RESULTS:
eckfactor helped establish a rapid reactive media office, enabling The Weather Channel to get the latest weather news and forecasts out to specific media around Australia within minutes. eckfactor also helps generate radio and television interest for The Weather Channel’s experts including Senior Meteorologist Dick Whitaker.
Performing an average of more than 50 live radio crosses per month and with regular spots on television programs such as Today on Channel Nine, The Weather Channel representatives are often heard across Australia giving the latest weather information.
In mid-2008, The Weather Channel moved into a new multi-million dollar virtual studio in North Ryde incorporating the latest state-of-the-art technology - ensuring the most accurate weather news is presented around the clock.
