CHALLENGE:
eckfactor was asked to great buzz and awareness for the launch of MySpace into Australia, following successful campaigns in the United States and around the world. MySpace then asked eckfactor to launch its political Impact channel in Australia.
STRATEGY:
For the MySpace launch, eckfactor instituted the "Secret Show" and worked closely with several key partners (such as EMI music) in the execution of major events with the band Jet to mark the website's launch. For the political Impact channel launch eckfactor held a media conference with key representatives from the major political parties including the then opposition leader Kevin Rudd, who went on to become Prime Minister.
ECKFACTOR RESULTS:
MySpace's inaugural "Secret Show" attracted a capacity crowd and the attention of key television, print and entertainment media, which reported favourably about the event and site. The national Impact Channel media conference attracted unprecedented coverage for the company in Australia, with all major TV networks and newspapers running stories. Top media outlets that covered the event included Channels 10, 9 and 7 News, ABC, Today Show, The Morning Show, Sunrise, Sky News, major metropolitan dailies, The Australian, The Australian Financial Review and online outlets.
